Four Invar tubes are used
to hold the two endplates at precise distance apart. This
forms a rigid assembly onto which all optical components
are mounted. The discharge tubes are supported on a polymer
concrete composite section, thereby ensuring adjustment-free
optical alignment with high mechanical and thermal stability
even in case of exchanging components in the discharge
region.

RF-series

The ROFIN RF is the first high-powered CO2 laser
with a wear-free outcoupling window made of synthetic diamond.
This makes it possible to keep beam parameters constant
across the entire control range, and increases up-time.
Its excellent beam quality of M² < 2.5 (TEM01*)
makes the ROFIN RF laser suitable for cutting thick sheet
metal, as well as thin sheet metal and for welding with
minimal heat affected zones.
The laser is a compact unit
with all supply and control systems integrated in it,
which minimizes the footprint, and means extremely short
startup times.
The maintenance-free, free-running,
high-power RF generator is coupled directly to the resonator
without cables. The use of only one RF transmission tube
gives the laser a long lifetime.
Operation with premix gas,
as opposed to separate gases, means that an internal gas
mixer can be dispensed with. This reduces the external
laser gas installations to one third. |

HF-series

With its Cross-Flow HF-series, ROFIN-SINAR replaces the
established DC-excited predecessor. The new HF-CO2 lasers
feature advantages such as low running costs, industrial
design and a beam profile ideal suited to a wide range
of welding and surface-treatment applications. The most
compact multi-kW industrial laser available on the market,
the HF-Laser requires a minimum of space and can be easily
integrated into automated production systems. |

The resonator features a multi-pass optical path with
mirrors mounted on a temperature stabilized graphite composite
tube resonator structure to ensure optical stability.
Laser gas is circulated into the discharge region via
a tangential blower and is cooled by a heat exchanger.
Gas flow orientation, High Frequency (HF) discharge and
optical path are at right angles to one another, resulting
in a compact design capable of delivering a multi-kilowatt
laser beam. |

DC-series "SLAB"

The diffusion-cooled CO2-Slab-Laser from ROFIN-SINAR marks
the advent of a new era in industrial laser technology
whether for cutting, welding or surface treatment. The
revolutionary design of the Slab-Lasers offers such decisive
advantages as extremely compact design and the elimination
of an external gas supply. Gas consumption is negligible,
the gas cylinder integrated into the laser head lasts
for approximately 12 months continuous use. Further features
include an extremely high beam quality and a significant
reduction in service requirements. |

The optical resonator is formed by the front and rear
mirrors and two parallel RF-electrodes. Excitation of
the laser gas takes place in the RF field between the
water-cooled electrodes. The heat generated in the gas
is dissipated by the water-cooled electrodes (diffusion
cooled). Thus, the conventional gas circulation systems
involving roots blowers or turbines are not required.
A beam shaping module is integrated into the laser head
and produces a high quality round symmetrical beam.
The resonator design produces a 45° linearly polarized
beam.

SR-series

Wherever a high output is required the ROFIN-SINAR CO2-Lasers
from the SR range are an ideal choice. Welding of thick
sheet steel, cladding or heat treatment of large surfaces
are applications idealy suited for these lasers.
Thanks to its high output power and beam quality
the SR range is used for welding purposes in the fields
of shipbuilding and pipeline production, to name just
two. A large number of well known research institutes
use these lasers for process development work. |

SR series of high power CO2 lasers are based on the proven
fast axial flow principle with the RF power supply module
integrated into the laser head unit. Turbo radial blowers
are used to transport the laser gas through the resonator.
A patented corner cube reflector arrangement of the fold
mirrors guarantees highest beam stability utilizing only
one fold. |
